Better Times

I often like to look at the photos on Time magazine’s website. My first stop is always the ‘Photos of the Week’ feature, which obvsiously showcases the best photos taken in during that week. The first six or seven photos were all rather depressing and grim. Depicting images of terrorists, war, and homeless immigrants. Then came a nice breath of fresh air, Buzz Lightyear flying down the street during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This sounds a bit silly, if not completely silly, but it was a neat photo and threw a bright spot upon all the negative reporting we hear and see all too often. I used to watch the period every Thanksgiving, but I never liked it. Strange? Sure. But it seemed if I didn’t watch I was missing something and was a bad Thanksgiver? So when I woke up this past Thanksgiving I my wife had something on the t.v that wasn’t the parade so I asked if it was on. It was. I changed the channel and didn’t watch one bit of the parade like usual. Thanksgiving felt complete once again.

Baby J.

I shot these newborn portraits of little J. as part of a first year session we gave his parents as a gift when he was born. We will shoot four more sessions before the photos are placed in a custom designed album. So far the pictures are turning out incredibly. He slept through most of the session which made the session pretty easy. 17 more years until we get to watch this little guy at middle linebacker for the Irish!

Baby E.

This is the second time I have shot baby E. These are her 3 month portraits. We are doing a lifestyle session as a gift to her parents whom are my wife and I’s cousins. The end result will be a portraits album of the best photos over the whole year. The way the portraits are turning out the album will be incredible.

In the office

Most people I work with know that I am a middle school teacher and coach on top of running my photography business. I do not run a studio as I prefer to do all location work, and I work out of my home office. Beginning this week I will not be in my office on Sunday – Tuesday until the wedding season starts for in late May. Why exactly am I telling you all this? Good question. I will not be holding consultations on these days, answering or returning phone messages, or responding to emails. If you have a shoot or wedding and you need to get in touch with me that week and it happens to be Monday please contact me. I will still take care of the current week’s shoots or wedding.

Evi

Evi was particularly active the morning we took her portraits which makes things a bit more diffictult. It is normally difficult to predict was a newborn is going to do, when they will look the camera’s way, or a number of other things. We were still able to capture some really cute portraits. The last one is my favorite and looked incredible when I saw the enlargement.
