Two Brothers and Their Dad

Typically I don’t like coordinated, or I should say matching, outfits in portraits.  It reminds me too much of the flat boring portraits at JC Penney or Sears, and usually groups cannot pull the look off to well. These guys were, and are, the exception to that rule. Maybe I like the choice to match because the portrait of the three of them is casual and very lax. As much energy as the older of the two boys had there was no way I was going to get a stiff posed portrait if I wanted to.

Carrie and Kyle

Kyle is an old friend of mine. One that I haven’t talked to in years, but used to school on the basketball court in grade school. I’ve known Kyle since grade school and was a bit disappointed when I thought I wouldn’t be able to shoot his and Carrie’s wedding. Fortunately my schedule worked out and I shot the wedding. I knew quite a few groomsmen and guests and had a small tiny bit of time to catch up with some people that I have not seen in a long long time. The day was incredibly hot but everything turned out great. The family’s property was a fantastic place to hold the festivities. A place I have not been to since I was in high school. Kyle and Carrie were both great and Kyle’s brother gave one of the best toasts, I would actually consider it a roast, I have listened to in my years of covering weddings. There are a ton of photos here. I liked quite a few of the images were were able to get so I figured I’d share them.

3 and 6 Month Portraits

I am very behind on blogging and have about 4 or 5 weddings to upload to this blog from this past wedding season. But first I want to get a few baby portraits up. Recently I shot a 3 month and 6 month portrait session as part of a First Year Session. When the year is over the photos will be placed into a coffee table style album. You may want to consider doing something like this instead of having a bunch of loose prints floating around. An album is much easier to show off and carry around. It is also much cooler than the accordion fold out in a wallet. Apologies to the people that have accordion foldouts. Onto the models. The first shot is of the two them together, obviously, they are cousins so we take a shot of them together whenever we have a portrait session.
